The long-awaited CHILDREN’S SATURDAY is coming, with performances and creative workshops for little festival guests! As usual, MUKAMAS 2024 offers a versatile and free side programme. In addition to the premises of Teatteri Mukamas, workshops are organized at Henneri’s play activity center. On Mukamas’ children’s Saturday, an event tent will be raised in the theatre yard, a party cafe will serve and Kontti (Mukamas’ container) will also open its doors.
Näkymättömät kumppanit -workshop at Henneri
Saturday begins in Henneri’s play activity center with two Näkymättömät kumppanit –workshops. In the workshops, a playful research trip into the world of microbes is made. The expedition gets to know some of our well-known microbial partners and searches for still unknown creatures using imagination, senses, visual arts and puppetry. In the workshop, you will make your own imaginative microbe dolls, which you can take home with you at the end.
Everyone is welcome, but the workshop is best suited for children aged 3-8 and their adults.
Plastic Rapids–workshop and free shows at Teatteri Mukamas
People of all ages are free to come and participate in the Plastic Rapids art workshop in Teatteri Mukamas’ container, where underwater dolls are built from plastic waste. The workshop is organized non-stop, which means you can arrive to build at any time between 11:30 and 12:30. You can also bring trash from home that looks or has a suitable design. The workshop is directed by puppet theatre artist Henrika Nieminen.
Two free performances of the popular show Hiirulainen ja Suuri seikkailu -Kesä will be shown in the event tent at 12.00 & 13.00.
There will also be a festival cafe, various activity points and fun things to do in Mukamas’ yard.
