Manndýr
What does it mean to be human? What about an animal? Do animals have a language? What is childhood? In Aude Busson’s collage-like work, we hear children’s own thoughts on life’s big questions.
The children’s thoughts and Borko’s music form the soundscape of the performance, creating an intimate and contemplative atmosphere. On stage, performer Aude Busson follows the children’s voices and traces a story about humanity and its relationship with the world. In Manndýr, the audience is invited to step into a world where the children themselves tell the entire story, and many questions remain unanswered. The performance is a space for play and sensitive exploration.
Manndýr has been performed over 60 times in theaters and schools in Iceland, France and Norway.
Aude Busson is a French performance maker, who has lived in Iceland since 2005. Her work explores the intersections of theatre, performance, dance and participatory art. A characteristic feature of her art is that the audience does not merely watch the performance, but becomes part of the work. Children and their perspectives are of particular importance in her art.
