A Multisensory Experience

A wooden block hides an endless number of meanings inside. The blocks form living sculptures that are born, disappear and are built again. The block theatre is a visual theatre that awakens the imagination. The performance offers perspectives on creativity and richness is created when the experiencer of art makes his own interpretation. The main part of the show are wooden blocks, a human-shaped reconstruction series designed by visual artist Kai Ruohonen.

Block theatre workshop

In the block theatre workshop, we build worlds around us and within us. With the means of block theatre, it is possible to build abstract metaphors or documentary and fictional sculptures, and make them come alive. Geometric shapes are perfect in themselves, but at the same time offer a void that the human imagination is free to fill with its own meanings.
