Angelika ja kuumat paikat
The spotlight is on the most captivating heroine of romantic entertainment! Glowing in Technicolor, the puppet adventure is charmingly old-fashioned. The stick puppets are accompanied by campy, cinematic music. How exciting! Tickling! And how questionable!
Do you remember Angelika? The heroine of that 60s extravagant romantic book and movie series, who was thrown by fate from the clutches of pirates into the embrace of the sun king.
This show dusts the cherry on the cake and the most incredible adventures from the stashes of DVD boxes. With the beautiful Angelika, we throw ourselves from one man, one problem, and one love to another. An entertaining and glowingly romantic performance puts its heroine in trouble and making ends meet. In the haze of historic France, the sultan’s harem and the slave market, we also encounter pressing questions about the light in which the female figure can be seen in this era.
However, love flows from decade and century to another. Handling conflicting topics with warm humour is the core competence of this working group. Angelika is a boldly musty and honestly heartwarming puppet romance.
“What to expect when the pulpy, romantic novel and movie heroine gets made over by Turku’s masterful puppet theatre artists. My prediction is anything, and especially the unexpected.” – Turun Sanomat
